About me:
Hi, my name is Mrs. Foster I am so excited to be at Falcon Ridge Elementary again this year and working with you and your student.
I grew up in Houston, graduated from Cy-Fair ISD schools and later moved to Bryan, TX to pursue my love for school counseling. I received a Bachelor's degree in teaching from Stephen F. Austin and a Master's Degree in Counseling at Sam Houston. I have seventeen years of experience in education, I have taught middle school math, served as a counselor for middle school, and now serve as an elementary school counselor. I am excited to work with students, parents, and school staff to achieve excellence at Falcon Ridge Elementary.
Elementary School Counseling Program
The Model of a Comprehensive, Developmental Guidance and Counseling Program consists of four components of Guidance Curriculum, Responsive Services, Individual Planning, and System Support. The responsibilities of each area are:
- Guidance Curriculum- Guidance lessons on a variety of topics; classroom presentation with students.
- Responsive Services- Individual counseling sessions, parent consultations regarding individual student needs; communicating with outside sources.
- Individual Planning- Academic and career guidance' parent and student consultations regarding individual student needs; communicating with outside sources.
- System Support- Parent education training; teaching consultation; participate in our school improvement plan.
Character:
Developing good character is an on-going process at Falcon Ridge Elementary. We focus on a different character trait each month. Our character traits are responsibility, respect, cooperation, gratitude, courage, kindness/empathy, honesty, creativity, and perseverance. We also use the social skills curriculum, Character Strong, on a weekly basis to help build foundational social skills.
