I am so excited about having you as a part of my class. This is my 17th year of teaching. I am thrilled to be part of Huffman ISD. This is my seventh year in the district. I taught 2nd grade, then 4th grade for the last 6 years at CES and FRE. I have taught all grades 2-5, with the most experience in 4th and 5th grade. This will be my 11th year teaching 4th grade. I have taught 5th grade for 4 years.
I was raised in a small town, about an hour away (Batson, TX). My immediate family still resides in Batson. I was extremely fortunate to attend a tiny school from K-12. I loved the small school environment so much that we moved our family to Huffman.
I graduated Summa Kum Laude and Top Graduating Female from Lamar University in May 2004. My family and I have lived in Huffman for the past 8 years. My husband, Adam, and I have 3 boys (Austin- Sam Houston University accounting senior, Trevor- 11th grader, and A.J.- 5th grade).
In May of 2015, we completed a 2 year project of designing and building our new home. I started working on my master's degree in August 2016 for Curriculum and Instruction in Math. I apply strategies learned from my master's work in my classroom.
I have specialized my associates, bachelor's, and master's degrees in the fields of math, science, and engineering. I truly love to share my knowledge and experiences with my students to strengthen their knowledge in these fields. I think that my training in these fields allow my students a unique experience in the classroom.
